The Finance Officer is IEEFA Australia's primary in-country finance professional, responsible for day-to-day financial operations, external vendor coordination, and ensuring consistent implementation of financial policies and procedures. IEEFA Australia outsources its core accounting and payroll functions to an external firm and is establishing its first Employer of Record service for international staff, primarily in Asia. This role liaises with the US-based Finance team to ensure consistent coding, reporting, and financial controls across entities, works closely with the Australia-based CEO and Operations Manager, and reports to the US-based Global Finance Manager. This is a remote position, based anywhere in Australia with opportunities to travel for in-person meetings and events. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, reviewing invoices and transactions, serving as relationship manager for the external accounting provider, managing Australian payroll and EOR arrangements, assisting with budgeting and grant financial reporting, managing procurement and vendor relationships, and serving as primary point of contact for the annual audit. Required qualifications: 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting operations; bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent; familiarity with grant-funded organizations and grant financial reporting; demonstrated competency with Xero; experience managing payroll and accounts payable/receivable; experience working with external financial and employment service providers; permanent working rights in Australia. Preferred: not-for-profit sector experience, global/multi-entity finance experience, EOR management experience, Quickbooks experience. Full-time, 38 hours/week, remuneration $115,992 - $139,980 AUD base plus super, with benefits including leave entitlements, paid parental leave, professional development allowance, EAP, home office and co-working stipends, and mobile allowance.
