Danish Refugee Council is seeking an Economic Recovery Specialist – Financial Inclusion & Market System Development for its operations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under the Mixed Migration Programme. The Specialist is the senior technical lead for local economic pathways, applying a Market Systems Development approach to help migrants, returnees, transit populations, at-risk youth and other vulnerable people access decent employment, apprenticeships, enterprise opportunities, financial services and sustainable livelihoods. Responsibilities include leading design of socioeconomic and skills profiling tools and individualised economic pathway methodology; establishing quality standards for economic counselling and referral; developing differentiated pathways covering employment, apprenticeships, enterprise development, self-employment and financial inclusion; building partnerships with banks, MFIs, digital financial service providers, BDS providers, TVETs and employers; identifying high-demand and climate-resilient sectors; designing market-oriented paid apprenticeship models; and coordinating with the Labour Mobility & Skills Recognition Specialist on integrated pathways. Requirements: at least 3 years of progressive experience in livelihoods, economic recovery, employment promotion, Market Systems Development/M4P, entrepreneurship, skills development, labour market systems, financial inclusion or reintegration programming; experience with migrants, returnees, displaced communities or crisis-affected populations in Ethiopia strongly preferred; MA/Bachelor's degree in economics, business management, entrepreneurship, labour studies, development studies, migration studies, sociology, social work, public administration or related field; full proficiency in English. Contract: 12 months, National Contract, Band G2, start date 15 October 2026. Only qualified Ethiopian nationals encouraged to apply.
