Search for Common Ground (Search) is recruiting a consultant-trainer to deliver Non-Violent Communication (NVC) training under the World Bank-funded PRODECI-TURIKUMWE project, which strengthens social cohesion between refugee and host communities in Burundi (Musasa, Nyankanda, Bwagiriza, Kavumu and Kinama camp areas).
The consultant will train community leaders and members of host and refugee communities in NVC principles and the OSBD (Observation, Feeling, Need, Request) process, equipping participants to defuse everyday tensions peacefully, reduce stereotypes, and build durable community dialogue mechanisms. Deliverables include a scoping note and work plan, NVC training modules (in French and Kirundi), pre/post-test M&E tools aligned with project indicators, and a final mission report with qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Requirements: a university degree in social sciences, communication or a related field; proven NVC expertise (certification or significant experience) with a minimum of 7 years' experience training adults, ideally in humanitarian or intercultural contexts; adaptability to local realities; and strong stakeholder coordination skills. Humanitarian sector experience is an asset. Travel is required.
