Emergency Health Project Manager

Lead Medair's Ebola health response in Ituri, focusing on support of communities and Health Facilities around IPC, surveillance, referral of suspected cases, and strengthening the integration of health activities in collaboration with Community Engagement and MHPSS activities. An Ebola outbreak was declared on 15th May 2026 in Ituri province; Medair is implementing specific pillars of the response including Infection Prevention Control, Case Management, Surveillance, RCCE and MHPSS. Full-time, 6 months, starting ASAP.

Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Health Advisor and Health PM, develop/manage a comprehensive activity plan covering the project proposal timeframe. Oversee all staff based in the health project including recruitment, appraisal, management, general well-being, job descriptions, work schedules and discipline, in coordination with the Projects Coordinator. Be responsible for the safety and security of Medair health assets and personnel on site. Coordinate with logistics to ensure health project equipment and medical/PPE/WASH supplies for the ETC are available on time, and ensure quality of medical care according to WHO and national guidelines. Coordinate with administration to ensure accurate accounting of project finances and effective cash-flow.

Qualifications: Medical Doctor, preferably specialized in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Infectious Diseases. Minimum 3 years post-qualification professional experience. Fluency in French an asset but not mandatory. Public health and/or infectious disease degree an asset. Experience as Project Manager an asset. 1-year overseas relief work experience with an NGO, ideally in health, desirable; experience in Ebola/VHF or infectious disease outbreaks strongly preferred.

Behavioural skills: strong servant leadership with a consultative management style; creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner with cross-cultural understanding; capacity to work under pressure and manage stress; able to oversee multiple tasks, prioritising and delegating; good communication skills. Medair is a Christian faith-based organisation; staff live, work and pray together as part of team spiritual life.
