SNV Vietnam's Transforming the Rice Value Chain for Climate Resilient and Sustainable Development (TRVC) is a pioneering flagship project working with the private sector to introduce low-emission and climate resilient rice practices into the Mekong Delta, using pay-for-results financing to incentivise private enterprises to scale sustainable rice production among smallholder farmers in An Giang and Dong Thap provinces (2022-2027). SNV is a mission-driven global development partner working in more than 20 countries across Africa and Asia, with over 1,600 staff, focused on gender equality and social inclusion, climate adaptation and mitigation, and strong institutions and effective governance.

The GEDSI Advisor is responsible for the effective integration of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion across all components of the TRVC project, mainstreaming GEDSI principles into project design, implementation, monitoring, and partnerships, particularly within private sector engagement and value chain development. The Advisor will enhance inclusive participation and equitable benefits for women, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups, and strengthen the capacity of project teams and partners.

Key responsibilities: provide strategic and technical leadership for GEDSI integration across company engagement, oversee quality assurance and GEDSI consultants, and support companies to develop seasonal and project-cycle GEDSI Action Plans; monitor application of GEDSI criteria and technical guidelines; design and lead a comprehensive capacity-building strategy for project staff, companies and stakeholders, including training materials, toolkits and guidance notes; coordinate the provincial GEDSI Coordination Programme, engaging PMUs and stakeholders; lead GEDSI integration into the project's monitoring, evaluation and learning framework, including indicator development, data quality and periodic technical reporting; and manage knowledge, learning and communications, documenting case studies, lessons learned and good practices and contributing to SNV GESI standards.

Qualifications: Vietnamese national; advanced degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences or related field; at least 7 years of relevant experience in gender equality, disability and social inclusion within development programmes, with strong experience mainstreaming GEDSI across the full project cycle; demonstrated experience on DFAT-funded programmes or applying DFAT's GEDSI framework; strong experience developing GEDSI strategies, tools and methodologies and leading capacity building and technical advisory; solid expertise integrating GEDSI into MEL, including indicator development and gender analysis; experience with climate-smart agriculture, carbon-related initiatives or sustainable value chains an advantage; experience working with the private sector on GEDSI; excellent communication and report writing skills in English; good written and spoken English and Vietnamese; willingness to travel to project sites.

Contract: employment contract, 12 months full-time with possibility of extension. Expected start date: ASAP. Duty station: Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh, with travel within the Mekong Delta. Reports to: Team Leader.
