Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is one of Germany's largest private aid organizations. Politically and religiously independent, we work toward a world without hunger. Together with national and international partners, we respond to humanitarian crises and support long-term solutions that improve the living conditions for the most vulnerable people. We change and shape food systems, we are locally-led and globally connected. As an impact-oriented and human-centered organization, we use innovation, evidence and data-informed decision-making to continuously improve our work and contribute to Zero Hunger.

The position is based in one of the following WHH country locations: Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Zimbabwe or Malawi. It is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of 1 year, with very good prospects for an extension. The successful candidate will be employed under the national terms and conditions and salary structure applicable to their respective duty station. Candidates should apply for the duty station in the country where they are currently legally authorized to work without requiring employer-sponsored work authorization. The position does not provide for international relocation or work permit/visa sponsorship.

The aims of the position are to develop and manage Welthungerhilfe's corporate compliance affairs in the Regional Directorate East & Southern Africa and to functionally manage compliance officers or compliance focal points in the program countries.

Your responsibilities:
- Manage Corporate Compliance across WHH's Regional Directorate East & Southern Africa, including fraud and corruption prevention, conflicts of interest, sanctions screening, data protection, safeguarding, and sensitive complaints.
- Provide functional leadership to compliance staff and focal points across the Region and ensure implementation of WHH's global compliance policies.
- Implement and strengthen WHH's Corporate Compliance Management Program and effective "prevent, detect, respond" processes across Country Offices.
- Provide Corporate Compliance training to Country Office staff and partners and maintain relevant training records.
- Ensure sensitive compliance complaints are channelled through WHH's global Complaints Response Mechanism.
- Initiate, conduct, or oversee investigations of sensitive compliance cases within the Region.
- Collaborate closely with Legal & Compliance at Head Office and relevant functions such as HR, IT, Finance, Supply Chain and Project Management.
- Advise Regional Management and Country Directors on strategic and operational Corporate Compliance matters.
- Represent WHH Compliance in relevant external expert meetings, associations and networks, where appropriate.

Your profile:
- University degree in Law, Management, Administration, Audit, Finance/Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a similar role, with sound knowledge of Corporate Compliance and compliance risk management.
- Understanding of the humanitarian context and experience working in multicultural environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to establish, maintain, and improve processes and confidently use relevant tools and methods.
- Experience in training and capacity building, with strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- High level of integrity, initiative, self-organization, attention to detail, teamwork, and resilience under pressure.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Eagerness to build awareness and skills to incorporate data-informed approaches into your work.
- Willingness and ability to travel within country project areas.

Our offer: We offer you the opportunity to work in a responsible and interesting field as part of an extremely dedicated team. Welthungerhilfe attaches great importance to the personal and professional development of its employees. Remuneration is based on our gender-independent salary scale.

Closing date: 2026-09-22
