icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute committed to addressing key public health challenges through high-quality research and innovation. The Mucosal Immunology and Vaccinology Unit (MIVU) under the Infectious Diseases Division focuses on studies to understand the systemic and mucosal immunology of diseases with natural infections, and on applying and extending these findings to better determine vaccine efficacy.
Position Description: The Senior Data Management Assistant will report to the Senior Statistician and will be responsible for administering various data collection forms; entering data into the database; downloading, cleaning, storing, backing up, and sharing data with internal MIVU staff. The incumbent will ensure the availability of accurate data for analysis and prevent data loss in accordance with the research protocol, organizational values, and institutional guidelines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Enter data into the database and perform regular backups.
* Generate SPSS/STATA data files and share them with the concerned personnel.
* Update the Record Management System.
* Create database views and write queries as directed and required.
* Analyse data as required by the Supervisor/Principal Investigator (PI) and escalate any issues or discrepancies.
* Take corrective actions as directed by the supervisor.
* Prepare and submit regular reports based on data received from the field to provide the required information to the concerned stakeholders.
* Provide input to the Senior Programmer in developing Android applications.
* Provide input during software debugging.
* Monitor the automatic data backup schedule.
* Report data inconsistencies to senior team members and take appropriate action as directed to ensure business continuity through reliable data access and to prevent accidental data loss.
* Maintain an effective filing and documentation system to facilitate future record retrieval and verification.
Required qualifications and experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with good academic records;
* At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Location: Mohakhali, Dhaka. Number of Positions: 01.
Contract Type and Duration: Fixed Term; duration will be 01 year with a possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & benefits: Annual Tk. 603,200/- inclusive of house rent, conveyance, and other admissible benefits; 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.2,492/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
