Acted operates in contexts of natural disasters, armed conflict, and socio-economic crises.

Acted is looking for a Protection Assistant to join our team in the Venezuela mission.
The Protection Assistant will provide direct operational support in the execution of on-the-ground protection activities for the emergency response following the June 24, 2026 earthquake, focusing efforts in the impacted area of Morón, Carabobo State.

Their main responsibilities will center on the initial identification of protection needs, facilitating community awareness sessions, conducting psychosocial activities, and providing logistical support within the case referral system, all under the supervision of the Protection Officer.

Functions:

Implementation and fieldwork:
• Support the collection of data on the ground and participate in rapid assessments of protection needs in the sectors most impacted by earthquakes.
• Facilitate community awareness sessions and information dissemination campaigns on rights, GBV prevention and available care pathways.
• Directly implement community psychosocial support activities and safe spaces for vulnerable populations (children and women)

Case management and operational support:
• Identify and conduct the initial recruitment of individuals with specific protection needs, immediately notifying the Protection Officer for formal activation.
• To provide logistical support to beneficiaries on care routes when direct assistance is required in local services.
• Maintain order, filing and secure record of attendance lists, delivery slips for protective supplies and activity documentation.

Monitoring and Safeguarding:
• Report daily on protection alerts detected in the communities and report on changes in the security environment.
• Disseminate information among the affected population about the organization's accountability mechanisms and suggestion boxes.
• Strictly comply with the Code of Conduct and Institutional Safeguarding Guidelines (PEAS) throughout the intervention.

Desired profile:

Requirements:
Required:
• Professional or student in their final semesters in: Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Health Sciences or related fields.
• At least one (1) year of experience in direct community work, preferably in protection activities, psychosocial support or community animation in the humanitarian sector.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and experience interacting with vulnerable populations in emergency contexts.
• Basic-intermediate handling of digital tools (Office Suite and mobile data collection platforms).
• Absolute availability to work in person in the assigned communities in Moron.
• Soft skills:
• Empathy, active listening and high humanitarian sensitivity for the dignified treatment of people affected by disasters.
• Dynamism, proactivity and great ability to work in multidisciplinary teams under pressure.
• Operational flexibility and adaptability to complex, hard-to-access environments.
Desirable (not mandatory):
• Previous experience in training, facilitating workshops and developing technical skills.

Conditions
• Service provision contract under the figure of professional fees for 3 months with possibility of renewal depending on budget availability and performance.
• Workplace: Acted Office in Carabobo.
• Professional fees according to the organization's scale.
• Provision of services through on-site presence and frequent travel to areas affected by the earthquake double-days.
