The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) is seeking an experienced and creative communications professional to join its growing international team working to deliver conservation impact and protect the basic human right to a secure natural environment. Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee the implementation of EJF's content and digital communications, ensuring investigations and advocacy are presented with clarity and impact. This role manages colleagues in the communications team and works closely with campaigners, researchers, investigators, project leads and filmmakers across four continents.
Key responsibilities include content strategy and production (developing comms strategy, leading compelling content across reports, briefings, blogs, newsletters and multimedia, maintaining editorial standards, style guide and editorial calendar); digital communications and social media (overseeing social channels, managing website content and SEO, using analytics to improve strategy); campaign communications (maintaining communications plans, disseminating campaign reports and policy briefings, supporting events, film screenings and launches); and internal communications and team support (supporting internal comms, strategic planning, capacity-building and managing comms colleagues).
Essential requirements: demonstrable commitment to EJF's mission; at least five years' professional experience in a communications role; an outstanding writer and editor in English; demonstrable experience leading social media and digital content with strong understanding of platform strategy and analytics; experience producing reports, blogs, web copy, newsletters and social media; excellent project management; meticulous attention to detail and factual accuracy; and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced international environment. Position based in London (hybrid, 3 days in office); full-time, permanent; salary £50,000-£60,000 dependent on experience. EJF is a global non-profit that believes environmental protection and human rights are inseparable, working across oceans, climate, forests and wetlands, and the protection of environmental defenders and journalists.
