BirdLife International is looking for a Regional Director in the Pacific to lead and effectively manage BirdLife International's Pacific Partnership in Fiji. In this role, you will ensure the provision of effective support to the network of BirdLife partner organisations in the Pacific region, including the delivery of planned conservation work, facilitating fundraising, promoting joint initiatives and representing BirdLife in the region. It also provides the opportunity to work closely with the Regional Director for Asia to identify and facilitate bi-regional Asia-Pacific funding and conservation opportunities. Key responsibilities span strategic planning, organisational management and governance (providing strategic leadership for the Pacific programme, strengthening the Pacific Partnership, developing the Pacific Global Team, ensuring governance/compliance/risk management, and advancing Asia-Pacific funding opportunities); conservation (leading delivery of the Pacific conservation strategy and coordinating regional support for initiatives, campaigns and events); network and capacity development; policy and advocacy (representing the Partnership with governments, regional institutions and donors); and fundraising and communications. The role requires regular travel within the Pacific region. Candidates need significant senior leadership experience, a proven ability to lead high-performing teams, build strategic partnerships and influence diverse stakeholders across cultures, together with substantial experience in programme leadership, partnership development and fundraising within the conservation or international development sector, and a strong understanding of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in the Pacific region. A postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience), ideally in conservation, environmental science, fundraising or a related field, is desirable. Full-time, open-ended contract; salary and benefits dependent on location (Fiji/Australia/New Zealand).
