The Associate contributes to the delivery of the Climate Risk team's responsibilities by applying prior experience to refine and interrogate the development of internal databases, data structures, and procedural frameworks. The Associate also contributes to the refinement of climate risk methodologies, supports the drafting of policy-related content including on broader financial-related sustainability risk topics, participates in climate scenario analysis and stress testing activities, and prepares presentation materials suitable for senior audiences. The Climate Risk team is a specialist second-line function of strategic importance, established to advance the Bank's institutional objectives on climate risk and contribute to the delivery of its broader green ambition, shaping and embedding the Bank's strategic direction on climate-related financial risks. Key responsibilities include: contributing to refinement of climate risk and sustainability risk methodologies; preparing and aggregating climate risk data to identify trends and gaps; contributing to procedural and policy content; strengthening internal controls and governance practices; developing climate risk sensitivities/stress testing for credit assessment; engaging with stakeholders such as bankers and first-line climate specialists; and developing materials for senior audiences. Requirements: degree in Finance or Economics with focus in Environmental Science or Sustainability, or equivalent experience; working experience with financial risk assessments and financial models; working knowledge of international frameworks such as TCFD, ISSB, and CSRD; strong analytical and quantitative capabilities including Excel; working-level experience with data tools (SQL/Python); experience with climate scenario analysis frameworks (e.g. NGFS); and strong writing and communication skills. Familiarity with GHG accounting, emissions disclosures, and international climate policy developments (e.g. Paris Agreement) is desired.
