Village Enterprise's mission is to end extreme poverty in rural Africa through entrepreneurship, innovation, and collective action, empowering women, refugees, and youth to launch small businesses and savings groups. Operating in Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda, the organization aims to lift 20 million people out of extreme poverty by 2035.

Village Enterprise is seeking Enumerators to assist with data collection for programs implemented across Yumbe, Gulu, Omoro, Agago, Kapelebyong, Alebtong, Katakwi, Kyenjojo, and Kamwenge Districts. The role sits within the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) department and reports to the Senior Enumerator.

Core Roles: Attend all trainings to understand survey tools, qualitative guides, and protocols; collect accurate quantitative data from households, businesses, or savings groups digitally; facilitate group discussions neutrally and respectfully; obtain informed consent from all participants; record qualitative data accurately during Focus Group Discussions, Key Informant Interviews, and in-depth interviews; translate and transcribe qualitative data into English or program language; ensure confidentiality and professionalism; record and upload responses into Taro works with daily synchronization; follow the sampling plan; verify and cross-check information; report field challenges promptly; and participate in debriefs, spot checks, and refresher training.

Safeguarding responsibilities include sensitizing participants on risks of child abuse and exploitation, reporting safeguarding incidents, and ensuring compliance with VE's safeguarding policies and Code of Conduct.

Qualifications: Minimum of a Diploma in any discipline, with prior experience/exposure in surveys, data collection, and research an asset. Understanding of data quality elements and experience in mobile-technology data collection is an advantage. Preference given to candidates residing within the listed districts; an LC1 introductory letter stamped with a telephone contact should be attached.
