Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies, through research and analysis, public advocacy leadership, and partnership with the private sector. CATF has offices in Boston, Washington D.C., and Brussels, with staff working virtually around the world.

The Director, Mass Market Acquisition and Engagement leads CATF's mass marketing strategy to build, steward, and fundraise from a large, engaged base of digital supporters and subscribers—driving measurable growth in revenue, brand awareness, and influence. This role is responsible for creating and managing the end-to-end marketing funnel, including identification, targeting, acquisition, engagement, conversion, retention, and stewardship of CATF's mass market audience. A key member of CATF's Communications and Marketing team and close collaborator with its Development team, this position is responsible for mass market fundraising.

Key responsibilities: Develop and execute an organization-wide mass-market acquisition and engagement strategy; lead multi-channel acquisition (email, social, search, display, paid media, events); establish KPIs and optimize the marketing funnel; manage marketing firms, consultants, and media buys; lead paid advertising (Google Ads, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn); improve email marketing; build engagement pathways; design stewardship and retention strategies; and manage and mentor internal marketing staff and external vendors.

Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing, acquisition, and/or revenue growth roles—preferably within mission-driven organizations; proven track record of full-funnel marketing strategies; experience with paid media, conversion optimization, email lifecycle marketing, CRM systems, audience segmentation, and analytics. Preferred: nonprofit fundraising experience; familiarity with advocacy, public policy, or climate/clean energy; proficiency with CRM/marketing automation (Salesforce, HubSpot, Iterable, Braze) and analytics platforms. Compensation: $145,000–$165,000 plus comprehensive benefits.
