Senior Accountant, Finance and Business Services
As a Senior Accountant, you're primarily responsible for collecting, reconciling, and summarizing accounting information, entering data into different accounting software, and generating financial reports for international and grant recipient clients.
Responsibilities:
- Month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Annual budgets and ad hoc reports.
- Reviewing, approving, and monitoring accounts payable and receivables.
- Vendor management, including due diligence and contracting.
- Tracking restricted funder grants including monthly BvA reports.
- Serving as a main point of contact for client financial needs, including project management support, vendor and subgrantee contracts, reporting, auditing, and preparing 990 and related tax forms.
- Operational needs, including liaising with internal departments such as IT and HR/Payroll.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration and 4+ years of experience in public accounting and nonprofit accounting. A CPA or CPA candidate is desirable. Must have proficiency with Excel, Office 365, QuickBooks Online and/or NetSuite, Bill.com, and banking platforms. Hands-on experience with client relations, grant management and tracking, as well as international nonprofit organizations, is preferred.
Working at Global Impact: Full-time position, may be fully remote, with travel to headquarters in Washington, D.C. for team meetings on occasion. Local employees are in a hybrid work model, with 1-4 days per month in the D.C. headquarters. Visa sponsorship is not available. Salary range $80,000-$85,000 depending on experience, plus 16 paid holidays and 25 paid days off, and a benefits plan including parental leave, medical, dental, short-term and long-term disability, and a 401K program.
