About Fight Inequality Alliance
Fight Inequality Alliance is a growing global movement organising and mobilising to counter the excessive concentration of power and wealth in the hands of a small elite. We are building a just, equal and sustainable world. We are embarking on an exciting new phase in the alliance's history, where we aim to become the most powerful global movement tackling the power of the 1% yet. To achieve this, we are embarking on our 10-year road map (2023 to 2033). For the alliance, the next decade is a critical time for the system that replaces neoliberalism to be defined and fought for. Whilst we organise at a larger scale to change the inequalities pressing on the daily lives of people living on the frontlines of inequality, we will also build people powered alternatives to the current system.

About the role:
As part of the National Secretariat Team, this role contributes to FIA's organisational performance and delivery of the 10-year roadmap and global strategy. The Mobilisation and Communications Officer lead growth and re-energisation of FIA Kenya's membership base, driving organising and mobilisation across counties. The role implements FIA's membership policy, coordinates member engagement and outreach, and executes mobilisation strategies aligned with national and global priorities. It also leads communications, including digital, media, and member-facing content, and supports organising and membership work.

What you'll do:
* Supporting the delivery of FIA's vision in the FIA Kenya National Secretariat
* Build and sustain strong membership at national and grassroots levels across counties and movement organisations
* Implement FIA's membership policy and manage the full membership cycle: recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention
* Plan and execute national mobilisation strategies and campaigns aligned with global objectives
* Coordinate outreach, community engagement, and events that deepen member participation and action
* Maintain accurate membership data, systems, and records for organising and reporting
* Develop and deliver communications (digital, media, and member-facing) in support of mobilisation and membership goals
* Support monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting at national level

What we're looking for:
* Minimum of a Diploma in Community Development, Development Studies, Communication and Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is an added advantage.
* At least four (4) years of relevant experience in grassroots organising, mobilisation, movement building, membership engagement, communications, or community outreach, preferably within civil society, social movements, coalitions, or nonprofit organisations.
* Demonstrated experience designing and implementing membership outreach, organising and mobilisation strategies.
* Experience managing digital communications and social media platforms, including content creation and campaign support.
* Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including community-based organisations, social movements, NGOs, donors and networks.
* Experience supporting multicultural and geographically dispersed teams and coordinating multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
* Strong understanding of grassroots organising, movement building, power-building approaches and membership engagement.
* Good understanding of inequality, social justice, feminist principles and human rights issues.
* Knowledge of Kenya's civic space and the stakeholder landscape, including government, civil society, social movements and communities.
* Strong organisational, coordination and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse groups.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and adapt messages for different audiences.
* Experience using digital engagement tools, social media platforms, membership databases or CRM systems is an advantage.
* Excellent command of English. Proficiency in Kiswahili or another Kenyan language is an advantage.
* Willingness to travel and work closely with grassroots communities across counties.
