Reports To: Chief of Staff
Location: Hybrid; 2 days per week required in-person in our NYC offices, with additional days as needed to fulfill job duties
Salary: Pregnancy Justice sets salaries based on years of relevant experience and its organizational pay scale. This position is internally designated as a Director-level role. Anticipated Salary for candidates with 10-12 years of relevant experience is $126,252–$132,644, with placement as follows:
* 10 Years Experience: $126,252
* 11 Years Experience: $129,409
* 12 Years Experience: $132,644

Position Summary:
The Major Gifts Officer is a newly created position that will lead strategy and execution for individual giving, including major gifts, while strengthening the infrastructure necessary to support revenue growth. The Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for all aspects of the individual and major donor giving cycle, including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
The Major Gifts Officer works collaboratively and interdepartmentally within Pregnancy Justice and will partner closely with the President in fundraising efforts. The position is internally designated at the Director level and will supervise the Development Associate. The Major Gifts Officer reports to the Chief of Staff.
What You'll Do:
The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to:
Individual & Major Giving Strategy
* Develop and execute a multi-year strategy to grow individual and major donor revenue.
* Build, manage, and advance a portfolio of 75–125 individual donors and prospects.
* Lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts for major gifts (average gift of $5,000+).
* Engage long-term supporters, lapsed donors, and prospective donors, identifying opportunities for increased connection and investment in the organization.
* Partner with the President and as applicable with the Board, on donor engagement.
* Draft compelling proposals, reports, and tailored donor communications.
Fundraising Campaigns and Events
* Leverage the organization's 25th anniversary as a platform to elevate visibility and deepen support from individual and major donors.
* Collaborate with communications teams to integrate anniversary storytelling into major donor cultivation strategies.
* Develop and manage end-of-year and other fundraising campaigns.
* Lead the design, planning, and execution of fundraising events.
Development Operations and Infrastructure
* Directly supervise the Development Associate, a position that provides coordination across all Development activities, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management.
* Strengthen systems for individual and major donor cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management.
Qualifications:
* 10+ years of nonprofit experience, with at least 3-5 years of work in individual and major gift fundraising.
* Demonstrated success cultivating and closing five-figure gifts.
* Experience designing or significantly expanding an individual giving program.
* Experience supervising staff.
* Strong strategic planning, analytical, and financial management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to thrive in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
