Starting Salary: USD 34,809

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (Until May 2027)

Location: Maniema, DRC

CAFOD is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a DG ECHO-funded multi-sectoral emergency assistance project in Maniema and South Kivu, DRC. Working closely with Caritas Kindu, consortium partners and CAFOD colleagues, you will help ensure high-quality, timely and compliant project implementation, with a strong focus on protection, cash transfer, early recovery, financial management, monitoring, accountability and partner accompaniment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support and accompany Caritas Kindu to deliver project activities effectively, safely and to agreed quality standards.
• Coordinate project planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and close-out in line with ECHO, CAFOD and consortium requirements.
• Provide technical support across protection, cash transfer, early recovery, SADI, risk management and accountability mechanisms.
• Monitor budgets, expenditure, procurement and financial reporting, ensuring strong compliance and audit-ready documentation.
• Build effective relationships with CAFOD colleagues, Caritas Kindu, DKH, consortium partners and local stakeholders.

What we’re looking for:
• At least five years’ experience implementing humanitarian projects, ideally including DG ECHO-funded programmes and consortium working.
• Strong experience in partner accompaniment, project management, financial compliance, monitoring and reporting.
• Knowledge of protection, PSEA/GBV/SEAH risk management, cash programming, accountability mechanisms and inclusive programming standards.
• Experience working in fragile or conflict-affected contexts, preferably in DRC or similar settings.
• Ability to travel frequently in and around DRC.
• Fluency in English and French; Swahili and other local languages are desirable.

This role is based in Kindu, with frequent travel to remote project areas. Applications must be completed in English.
