About the Program:
Since launching in 2023, the Coalition for High Ambition Multilevel Partnerships (CHAMP) for Climate Action has quickly developed into the primary platform for multilevel climate partnerships. With 77 endorsing countries, CHAMP aims to unlock the potential of multilevel partnerships to accelerate NDC implementation, improve access to climate finance for subnational governments, and showcase pioneering action on climate mitigation and adaptation. World Resources Institute (WRI) serves as an important partner supporting CHAMP's governance, diplomatic engagement, communications, national action and research.

Job Highlight:
As the Fundraising Manager, you lead the strategic planning, implementation, and management of CHAMP's funding strategy to enable the expansion and continuity of the coalition's multilevel climate action work. You will operate under the strategic leadership of the Steering Group and WRI CHAMP Project Board. Reporting to the Director of Urban Efficiency, you will collaborate with several key stakeholders. These stakeholders include the Head of Governance and Diplomacy, Head of Finance, Head of National Action, and the WRI Development Team. Your responsibilities will include identifying potential funding streams and developing high-value funding proposals. Additionally, you will support CHAMP leadership in developing relationships with multiple partners, such as bilateral donors, foundations, multilateral climate funds, and private sector partners, to secure multi-year funding.

What you will do:
Strategic Fundraising (60%):
* Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for CHAMP's continued growth, including budget projections and landscape analysis, working with the Steering Group and WRI CHAMP Project Board to define priorities
* Identify and help CHAMP leadership cultivate relationships with prospective donors interested in multilevel climate partnerships, in coordination with WRI Development Team
* Lead proposal development, including drafting, review and submission, and coordinate with CHAMP partner organisations on joint fundraising
* Develop donor communication strategies in coordination with Communications Manager, create pitch materials and donor engagement packages, and organise donor briefings
* Document lessons learned from fundraising activities and maintain knowledge of climate finance trends and donor priorities

Collaboration (40%):
* Facilitate close collaboration across WRI workstreams, WRI country offices and CHAMP partners and keep partners aligned on fundraising initiatives
* Organise and participate in meetings with CHAMP partners and stakeholders, provide updates on fundraising milestones, and solicit feedback to strengthen collective impact
* Communicate funding strategy and CHAMP's vision and value proposition consistently, ensuring you equip all stakeholders to advocate for and support fundraising efforts.
* Manage donor database and maintain detailed and up-to-date project plans for all fundraising activities, setting clear objectives, tasks and timelines and track progress using Asana and Salesforce
* Brief Director of Urban Efficiency, CHAMP Project Board and WRI Ambassadors on fundraising progress and support with all necessary information for donor engagement.

What you will need:
* Education: You have a completed bachelor's degree in a relevant field required in nonprofit management, business administration, environmental studies, international relations, or related fields
* Experience: You have experience in fundraising or grants management in international development, climate policy, or environmental organizations
* Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies, managing donor relationships, and securing funding from bilateral agencies, foundations, and multilateral institutions
* Demonstrated financial literacy including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring
* Working knowledge of Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems, preferably Salesforce
* Experience collaborating with internationally dispersed teams
* Experience engaging with government officials and working in multi-stakeholder groups, as well as experience working with international development or finance agencies
* Experience in proposal capabilities and demonstrated ability to organise and present messages with clarity and impact
* Experience managing multiple projects with complex and time-sensitive requirements
* Languages: You are proficient in spoken and written English
* Requirements: If you want to be based in the UK, you will need an existing right to work. WRI is unable to sponsor visas in the UK.
