About the Role
MAP seeks a Safety and Security Officer to support the implementation of security management systems, safety protocols, and risk mitigation measures to ensure the safety and security of MAP staff, visitors, premises, assets, and operations in Gaza. The role will support security assessments, incident monitoring, movement coordination, and contingency planning, while maintaining close oversight of field developments and operational risks. The postholder will also support the safety and security of Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs) and visiting missions through risk assessments, security briefings, mission planning, and reporting. In addition, the role will oversee fleet and movement coordination, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant transportation operations in line with organisational safety and security procedures.

About You
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with relevant qualifications or practical experience in safety, security, logistics, or humanitarian operations within complex and high-risk environments. They will demonstrate experience in conducting route and field risk assessments, coordinating operational movements, and working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of the humanitarian and political context in the occupied Palestinian territory, alongside strong English and Arabic communication skills, is essential. The successful candidate will also possess solid IT skills, the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities, and hold a valid driving licence with at least two years of driving experience.
