We have advertised a position as Business Controller in the Finance & Controlling team at our headquarters in Cologne, starting as soon as possible.
Business Controlling, together with the Finance department, is part of the operational management of Malteser International. The three-person Business Controllers team is responsible for the further development of financial reporting and planning, ensuring consolidated and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders, and supporting proper financial management and the preparation of the annual financial statements.
Your tasks:
- Consolidated monthly financial reporting of international locations
- Coordination and support of the quarterly forecasting and budgeting processes of the sites
- The country offices serve as the central technical contact point for financial issues.
- Collaboration and active support of the locations in month-end and year-end closing activities
- Ensuring HGB-compliant accounting through selected internal control processes (ICS)
- Consulting, guidance and training of country offices on accounting, planning and financial processes
- Participation in the further development, standardization and digitization of financial processes as well as in the creation of corresponding guidelines and manuals.
Your profile:
- A completed university degree in business administration, finance & controlling or a comparable field.
- At least two years of relevant professional experience in (business) controlling, ideally in the field of international humanitarian aid and/or development cooperation.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and experience with project accounting and ERP systems, preferably WINPACCS and/or SAP CO/PS; knowledge of financial planning and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is an advantage.
- Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken; knowledge of French is desirable.
- Willingness to undertake occasional business trips, as well as a high degree of intercultural sensitivity and confident communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail combined with a holistic perspective, as well as decisiveness and initiative.
