SCOPE OF WORK

We are recruiting a strategic and results-driven Director to lead and expand the Heart Institute of the Caribbean Foundation (HICF). The Foundation plays a critical role in advancing HIC's mission of expanding accessibility for all to high-quality cardiovascular care by mobilizing philanthropic funding, corporate partnerships, and international collaborations to subsidize care for uninsured and underserved patients across the Caribbean. Additionally, the Foundation also conducts outreach and public education programs to promote heart health awareness and women's health in Jamaica, trains cardiac technicians to serve rural communities, provides scholarships and mentorship to empower youth in healthcare and public speaking, and organizes international medical conferences and cardiac surgical missions with international partners. After COVID-19, the Foundation launched free surgical missions to address care backlogs post-COVID, including urgent cardiac and general surgeries for vulnerable patients.

The Director will own and drive Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising Strategy, delivering sustained income growth and building a strong pipeline of institutional and corporate donors. The role also includes raising awareness of heart health inequity in the Caribbean and positioning HICF as a leading vehicle for social impact investment in cardiovascular health. The Director will also oversee high-level event management, including the annual HIC International Master of Medicine Conference, and support corporate social responsibility initiatives across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean. Additionally, the Director will spearhead the further development and expansion of the Foundation's operational team as well as their supervision and strategic leadership across four main areas: advocacy, public awareness and communication, fundraising and development, and programs and impact, under the supervision and guidance of the Foundation's Advisory Board.
