Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP), working with Nurani Perdamaian Indonesia (NPID) and GCERF, is implementing the STRIVE Program (Strengthening Rehabilitation and Reintegration and Improve Social Cohesion against Violent Extremism) in Indonesia from January 2025 to December 2027. The program supports the reintegration and rehabilitation of returnees, former violent extremist offenders and people at risk. It works in Jakarta, Bima (West Nusa Tenggara) and Poso (Central Sulawesi). As the program nears completion, NP Indonesia is commissioning a high-quality documentary film. The film will capture the program's journey, achievements, lessons learned and the human stories behind it, and will serve as a legacy product, an advocacy tool and a knowledge resource.
The consultant, or production company, will run the full production process:
- Pre-production: inception meetings, a review of program documents, a creative concept and treatment, a storyline, an interview framework, a production schedule, and filming and logistics plans.
- Production: field filming in Jakarta, Bima and Poso. This covers program activities, interviews with beneficiaries, families, community and religious leaders, government representatives and partners, and drone footage where permitted. The approach should be cinematic and story-driven.
- Post-production: narrative development, editing, motion graphics, music and sound mixing, English and Bahasa Indonesia subtitles, revisions, and final mastered versions.
Deliverables: one documentary film, a shortened version, a promotional trailer, five short social media clips, bilingual subtitles, high-resolution photographs, all raw footage, and editable project files on request.
Timeline: procurement and pre-production in December; field production January to March; editing in April; review, final cut and delivery in May 2027. The contract is a six-month consultancy running until May 2027. The estimated production budget is IDR 250,000,000.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional documentary film production experience.
- Experience producing documentaries for international development, humanitarian or donor-funded programs.
- Strong storytelling and cinematic skills.
- Proven field production experience in diverse cultural contexts.
- Ability to produce bilingual outputs.
