The Senior TB and TB Prevention Advisor is responsible for embedding sustainability mechanisms to ensure stronger health systems for TB and TB-HIV services in the public and private health sectors, nationally and in the AFGHS/MSH-supported Regions. The role implements TB program activities in close collaboration with Government counterparts, working jointly with Government TB experts to deliver TB, TB-HIV and latent TB infection (LTBI) activities within the public health system structure, while supporting sustainability and transition to the Government and local stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
- Serve as primary liaison for the project-supported comprehensive TB program with MOH/NTBLLD, Regional Health Bureaus, Zonal Health Departments and Woreda health offices.
- Lead planning, implementation and continuous monitoring of TB, TB-HIV and TB prevention activities across project-supported regions and zones.
- Represent the project at national and regional forums.
- Provide technical support to regional health bureaus to foster effective partnership on TB, TB/HIV and TB prevention.
- Support scale-up of innovative TB case finding approaches, such as AI-powered digital X-ray screening for key and vulnerable populations.
- Assist in TB/HIV and LTBI logistics management with EPSA and regional laboratories to ensure uninterrupted supply of TB and laboratory commodities.
- Lead use of the WHO LTBI care app integrated with DHIS2 for electronic reporting, and integration of WHO TB infection control recommendations into national guidelines.
- Build health managers' capacity to lead TB programs in the private and public sectors.
- Supervise regional technical staff and provide technical assistance to the NTBLLD on SOPs, job aids, and monitoring tools.
- Strengthen milestone-based TB program monitoring, including contact investigations, preventive therapy, treatment outcomes and pharmacovigilance.
- Facilitate sustainability and transition of project gains to Government and local actors.

Qualifications: MD or master's degree in public health sciences; at least 7 years of TB program experience including TB prevention implementation in public and private sectors; experience with international organizations is an advantage; strong leadership, communication and analytical skills; fluency in English; willingness to travel frequently (up to 50% of time) within project regions.
