FISH RIGHT PROGRAM
FINANCE & OPERATIONS ASSISTANT
( 1 Batangas-Mindoro and 1 La Union-Ilocos)
OVERVIEW
Fish Right—the United States’ flagship fisheries program in the Philippines —advances U.S. strategic interests in maritime domain awareness, alliance-building, and Indo-Pacific stability by countering illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, strengthening rule-of-law maritime governance, and improving the economic resilience of Philippine fisheries.
To achieve these objectives, the program is implementing three mutually reinforcing lines of effort: community-based IUU fishing reporting, fisheries-focused marine scientific research (MSR), and fisheries investments and market integration. Policy, advocacy, and strategic communications serve as the cross-cutting enabler that links these lines of effort into a coherent whole-of-program approach. Together, these efforts are designed to strengthen Philippine government capacity to detect, verify, and respond to unlawful maritime activity; generate actionable evidence to inform policy, operational, and diplomatic decision-making; and promote more secure, competitive, and resilient fisheries value chains in priority areas.
