The Earthshot Prize is the world's most prestigious environmental Prize, celebrating groundbreaking leadership in environmental action and inspiring optimism across the globe. Its Storytelling team shares the stories of the Prize and its Finalists across media, TV, social, digital and beyond. The 2026 Summit & Awards Night takes place in Mumbai in November, and the organisation is bolstering its core team to deliver it.
This is a full-time (5 days/week) 6-week contract from mid-October. The Head of Content - London Lead will head up the London-based content team during the most important period of the year, acting as the counterpart to the Head of Content leading delivery on the ground in Mumbai.
Key responsibilities:
- Cross-timezone coordination: hold daily huddles with the Head of Content in Mumbai, own the handover of work between the India and UK timezones, act as the London-based decision-maker, and maintain a shared view of the content plan, approvals and deadlines.
- Quality control and brand consistency: act as final QA on all content produced during the Summit and Awards period across social media, website, email and wider digital; check spelling, grammar and accuracy; ensure adherence to brand guidelines, tone of voice and visual identity; verify names, titles, figures and Finalist details.
- Team management: lead the London team, set daily priorities, and support core team members and freelancers, keeping focus, morale and wellbeing high.
- Content production and delivery: brief and manage video and design production across channels, own the video and design pipeline from brief to sign-off, work with the Social Media Manager on the content calendar (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn) and with the Digital Manager on website updates and eNews campaigns, and turn around fast-moving reactive content from Mumbai.
Candidate criteria:
- 10+ years of experience in social media marketing and content production, in-house or at an agency
- Exceptional eye for detail, with impeccable spelling, grammar and proofreading skills
- Proven experience as a brand guardian across channels
- Experience briefing and managing video and design production
- Experience working with distributed teams across timezones
- Calm under pressure in a fast-paced, live-event environment
- Strong people management skills
- Experience delivering content around major live events, awards or global campaigns is highly desirable
- Flexibility to work hours overlapping with India Standard Time, including early starts and later evenings
- Availability to work the weekend of 14–15 November and extended hours on 16–17 November
