Médecins du Monde has worked for more than 40 years to care for the most vulnerable populations, denounce barriers to healthcare access and bring lasting change to health policies. In France and in nearly 30 countries, its work is organised around six political fights: sexual and reproductive health and rights, migration and exile, harm reduction, environmental health, health rights and systems, and humanitarian spaces.
The Human Resources Department (DRH) at headquarters has seven units, including Relations and Social Affairs, which handles the review and securing of HR processes, clear legal frameworks, labour relations and disputes, and the application of labour law for both the France and international sectors.
As a replacement, the Head of the Relations and Social Affairs unit leads social dialogue, secures the association's practices, and supports management, managers and HR teams on individual and collective issues. The post reports to the Director of Human Resources and manages 2 employment lawyers.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the unit: set priorities and objectives in line with the HR strategy, manage a team of 2 employment lawyers, organise resources and budget, and track activity through indicators.
- Lead labour relations: advise management on social issues, organise professional elections, prepare and run social negotiations, inform and consult staff representative bodies, oversee implementation of agreements, and maintain constructive social dialogue.
- Secure practices and prevent social risks: assess risks linked to labour law in France and internationally, carry out legal and legislative monitoring, support staff in applying the social framework, and help revise HR processes and legal frameworks.
- Advise on individual relations: give operational legal advice to managers and HR referents, support sensitive individual situations, and guarantee confidentiality.
- Manage disputes: handle individual and collective labour-law disputes, assess legal and financial risks, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, and select and monitor external providers within purchasing procedures and budgets.
- Support organisational transformation: anticipate the social impact of projects and changes, define a communication strategy to help staff adopt changes, and make recommendations to management.
