MSF has operated in Ukraine since 1999 and now runs four projects, including an Early Rehabilitation project based in Cherkasy with a sub-base in Kyiv. The Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Manager is based in the Cherkasy Project. The role reports hierarchically to the Project Medical Coordinator and functionally to the Country Medical Coordinators and the MSF OCB IPC Referent in Brussels.

Main responsibilities:
- Assess health departments in MSF-supported facilities against IPC standards and National Guidelines.
- Develop, implement and monitor facility-specific IPC action plans. Coordinate and validate them with Ministry of Health counterparts and hospital management.
- Lead the hospital IPC programme in line with MSF protocols and national regulations.
- Develop and update IPC policies, SOPs and guidelines.
- Run IPC risk assessments, audits and healthcare-associated infection surveillance, and put corrective and preventive actions in place.
- Give technical guidance to MSF and MoH staff on standard and transmission-based precautions, hand hygiene, sterilization, disinfection and waste management.
- Deliver IPC training, orientation and competency assessments.
- Prepare IPC performance reports. Represent MSF in IPC networks and working groups.
- Supervise and mentor IPC team members. Support the establishment of hospital IPC committees.

Requirements:
- Degree as Registered Nurse, MD, Epidemiologist or Pharmacist.
- Diploma in IPC (mandatory, validated by the MSF IPC Referent).
- At least 2 years of professional IPC experience in hospital settings.
- Work experience in volatile contexts is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Conditions: Fixed-term, full-time, 9-month contract. Expected start date 1 December 2026. On-site in Cherkasy, with regular visits to other projects in Ukraine. Salary follows the MSF salary grid. No family or couple position.
