Precision Development (PxD) is a rapidly scaling global nonprofit working with governments across Africa and Asia to close the last-mile gap in smallholder farming, delivering evidence-based information and tools such as timely farming and weather guidance to millions of farmers. PxD is seeking a Program Manager to support the delivery and scale-up of its Weather initiative in Ethiopia, with a focus on government relations and coordination across the channels used to deliver weather and climate information to farmers.
Responsibilities:
- Government Relations & Partnerships: build and maintain strong relationships with government institutions and partners involved in weather and climate information services; coordinate with government stakeholders on implementation, alignment, approvals and scale-up; represent PxD in government meetings, technical working groups, workshops and conferences.
- Channel Coordination & Program Delivery: coordinate across the channels used to deliver weather information and advisory services, working with program, research, technology and content teams; support planning, testing and rollout; maintain implementation plans, timelines and responsibilities, and address risks.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: coordinate meetings, workshops and trainings with government and implementation partners; prepare briefing materials, presentations and reports; work closely with the Country Director.
- Program Learning, Monitoring & Adaptation: support strategies to increase reach and effectiveness of weather information services; track performance indicators and document lessons learned.
- Reporting: contribute to project reports, donor updates and funding proposals.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in development studies, economics, agricultural economics, public policy, agriculture, environmental or climate science, communications, or a related field.
- Significant professional experience in program management, government relations, or stakeholder/partnership management, including direct work with government institutions in Ethiopia.
- Strong understanding of government structures and processes in Ethiopia.
- Experience coordinating programs with multiple stakeholders, partners and delivery channels; agriculture, weather, climate or digital development experience is an advantage.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English and Amharic (Amharic required).
- Willingness to travel within Ethiopia as required.
Full-time, hybrid, based in Addis Ababa. Candidates must have existing authorization to work in Ethiopia; PxD cannot sponsor visas.
