FHI 360 is a nonprofit human development organization dedicated to improving lives in lasting ways by advancing integrated, locally driven solutions. FHI 360 Benin is recruiting a Database Manager for its Cotonou office. The post reports to the Senior M&E Advisor.
The Database Manager is responsible for designing, administering, maintaining and optimizing the organization's data management systems. They ensure the availability, integrity, security and quality of the data needed for performance monitoring and decision-making, working closely with technical, monitoring and evaluation, and IT teams and with partners to keep data accurate, consistent, complete and reliable, and to produce dependable information for programmatic and strategic reports.
Key responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the project database to ensure the quality of the data entered.
- Ensure timely collection, entry, review and aggregation of project data.
- Verify the authenticity and accuracy of data before it is transmitted to the donor.
- Carry out in-depth data analysis and presentation.
- Work with the M&E team to develop and/or revise data management systems, data security, analysis plans, templates and dissemination plans.
- Provide technical assistance to build staff capacity in database design, development and implementation, data management, analysis and reporting.
- Develop and implement a mentoring programme for implementing partners' data managers on primary data collection tools and database management.
- Develop and implement a data management capacity-building plan for project staff.
- Contribute to data analysis for publications, advocacy and presentations.
- Support project surveys and studies with technical assistance on data management and reporting.
- Help draft and edit standard operating procedures for data entry, management and analysis.
- Advise on strategies to improve the quality of data from implementing partners.
- Take part in data review meetings at various levels.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree (Bac +3 or higher) in Computer Science, Statistics or an equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of experience in health or clinical data administration and management.
- Regular, advanced and demonstrated use of DHIS2 modules.
- Excellent knowledge of statistical analysis software: SPSS, STATA, R, Python.
- Good command of SQL and tools such as Power BI, Tableau and KoboToolbox.
- Experience developing Android applications.
- Good knowledge of key HIV/AIDS indicators.
- Proven proficiency in French and English; team spirit.
Expected annual basic salary: XOF 12,000,000 - 15,000,000.
