The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a global humanitarian organisation helping people forced to flee. NRC Myanmar is seeking an Education Technical Assistant based in Maungdaw, Rakhine State, to support its Education programme. The role reports to the Multi CC Coordinator with technical line to the Education Project Manager. Contract: fixed-term national contract through June 2027 (possible extension). Travel: 70%.

Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on project activities and ensure compliance with plans and NRC standards
- Administer volunteer teachers' and school children's payments and entitlements
- Work with community education committees in planning and enrolment of activities
- Distribute and monitor the use of school materials according to procedures
- Assist volunteer teachers in their work and suggest new methods to improve quality
- Mobilize communities and project participants to participate in education activities
- Participate in planning, preparation, implementation and follow-up of education campaigns
- Contribute to project and thematic materials for Education programme activities
- Undertake data entry, maintain accurate records, and support monitoring & evaluation and report writing
- Support the Education Officer and community-based workers in conducting education needs assessments and surveys
- Facilitate trainings on gender, climate change, life skills, teaching and learning methodologies, classroom management and psychosocial support
- Facilitate the formation and strengthening of PTAs and School Improvement Committees (SICs)
- Report all protection-related concerns; abide by NRC security protocols in the field

Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience working with education projects in a humanitarian/recovery context
- BA degree or equivalent preferred; relevant experience necessary
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts
- Fair English and computer skills
- Good administrative, accounting and reporting skills
- Training and facilitation skills
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision, and to live and work under difficult circumstances
- Flexible, creative and co-operative
