IWMI, a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking applications from enthusiastic individuals looking to gain professional experience in finance under IWMI's internship program, based at IWMI's headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The intern will support the Finance Department, gaining practical exposure to accounting and financial management in an international organization, including journal entries, correction entries, GL reconciliations, Payment on Behalf (POB) transactions, reporting, and audit documentation, as well as supporting the Workday ERP implementation. Duties include providing supporting documents for financial reporting and audits, posting journal and correction entries, assisting with the ERP implementation, processing and clearing POB transactions, and preparing GL reconciliations. Candidates should be a registered or part-qualified student at CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, AAT, or ACCA, and hold or be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting, proficiency in MS Excel and Word, and strong communication skills. IWMI will provide a monthly stipend. The initial internship contract is for 6 months with possible extension for another 6 months. This is a nationally recruited internship open only to Sri Lankan nationals.
