Conservation South Africa (CSA), a local affiliate of Conservation International, seeks a Climate and Rangeland Science Senior Coordinator based in Matatiele, Eastern Cape, South Africa. This is a fixed-term contract commencing on or before 1 October 2026 and ending 31 December 2029. The role provides scientific, technical, and community-facing support for ecological restoration and climate resilience initiatives across the Umzimvubu Landscape. It bridges restoration science, climate resilience planning, participatory governance, field implementation, and knowledge sharing. Responsibilities include contributing to the scientific design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of rangeland restoration initiatives; conducting and analysing ecological assessment data; developing site-specific grazing strategies; supporting Climate Change Vulnerability Assessments and Community Climate Risk & Response Plans; contributing to landscape communications and donor reporting; and supporting Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) activities. Required qualifications: a Bachelor's degree in natural/environmental sciences, natural resource management, rangeland science, ecology, or a related field; 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in rangeland restoration, conservation, environmental science, or climate adaptation; demonstrated ability to communicate technical and scientific information to diverse audiences; strong written and verbal communication skills; and a valid driver's license. A postgraduate degree with applied research experience is preferred.
