Individual Consultant for the Development & Release of a Policy Brief Related to the Application of GEDSI Elements to AMR & Animal Health
Location: Paris (or remote), France
WOAH, a leading intergovernmental organisation representing 183 Members, seeks an individual consultant to develop and release a policy brief on integrating GEDSI (gender, disability, and social inclusion) considerations into AMR (antimicrobial resistance) and animal health policy. Reporting to the Head of the Veterinary Products & Drug Resistance Department, with technical supervision from the Gender Technical Advisor, the consultant will review WHO guidance on gender inequalities and AMR, build on prior initiatives such as GEAR-UP, identify critical GEDSI considerations relevant to animal health policy through surveys and key informant interviews with CVOs, animal health policy makers, and other stakeholders, and produce a concept note and policy brief. Later stages involve an open consultation across WOAH's membership, an international workshop, and a public report on GEDSI awareness among private-sector food-producing and companion-animal industries. Requires a PhD in social sciences (postdoctoral experience desirable), at least 5 years of professional experience in social sciences and health systems, demonstrated experience applying GEDSI analysis in health systems or public policy, proven experience in AMR-related policy, strong data analysis and report-writing skills, and excellent English (French or Spanish desirable). Salary is 400 EUR per day for up to 150 days over a 6-12 month contract, based at WOAH Headquarters in Paris or remotely with periodic visits.
