The Chief of Staff and Board Secretary strengthens executive effectiveness and institutional governance by leading the Office of the CEO, supporting the CEO's strategic priorities, and serving as Board Secretary to the Board of Trustees. The role ensures executive and Board decisions are well prepared, accurately recorded, clearly communicated and followed through across Landscape Alliance. Key duties include advising the CEO on institutional priorities and risks, preparing briefing notes and decision papers, leading the Office of the CEO, serving as principal liaison to the Board of Trustees and Committees, managing the governance calendar, agendas, papers and minutes, overseeing statutory filings and governance audits, translating Board decisions into tracked management actions, coordinating across Research, Corporate Services, Legal and HR, leading special institutional projects, and managing executive and governance communications. Requirements include an advanced degree in public administration, law, governance, international relations, development studies, political science or business; at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in executive office leadership, governance or board secretariat functions within an international, research, intergovernmental or comparably complex organization; demonstrated experience as or supporting a Board Secretary; strong governance and compliance knowledge; staff supervision experience; and exceptional drafting and communication skills. This is a Globally Recruited Position with an initial two-year appointment and six-month probation.
