Active in Sri Lanka since 1989, WUSC strengthens systems and fosters collaboration to expand education, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities for youth, particularly young women.
The STRIVE Project (Strengthening TVET Resilience and Inclusive Vocational Employment) is a new five-year initiative designed to transform the economic prospects of young people, especially young women, in Sri Lanka's Northern and Eastern Provinces, focusing on agriculture, hospitality and tourism, and ICT as a cross-cutting sector.
The consultant(s) will support the designing, developing and implementation of employer engagement campaigns that increase employer awareness, strengthen industry partnerships with TVET institutions, and promote employment opportunities for TVET graduates, including those with green skills. The assignment aims to increase employer awareness of TVET graduate competencies, promote green skills and sustainable occupations, strengthen collaboration between employers and TVET institutions, encourage internships and apprenticeships, and promote inclusive employment practices for women, youth with disabilities, and marginalized youth.
Required qualifications: an advanced university degree in Business Administration, HR Management, Marketing, Communications, Economics, TVET, Education, Labour Market Studies, Development Studies or related field; at least 10 years of experience in private sector engagement, workforce development, TVET, labour market systems or employment promotion; proven experience designing employer engagement strategies and public-private partnership initiatives; experience with TVET institutions, employers, chambers of commerce and government agencies; experience integrating GESI into employment programmes; experience promoting green jobs and climate-smart workforce initiatives is an asset; excellent communication, facilitation, analytical and report-writing skills. Contract period: up to 60 working days between 1 October 2026 and 31 March 2027.
