Village Enterprise and HereWeGrow are partnering on HARVEST, a three-year project addressing poverty, gender inequity, and climate vulnerability among smallholder coffee farmers in Ethiopia's Keffa Zone (Gimbo and Shisho Ende districts). The project combines Village Enterprise's poverty graduation model (seed capital grants, business and financial literacy training, mentoring, savings groups) with climate-smart agriculture and market linkage interventions, aiming to train 8,100 entrepreneurs and lift 52,000 individuals from poverty.
The part-time Enumerator (7 posts) will report to the MEL Coordinator and support field-level data collection. Responsibilities include locating and mapping respondents/households, conducting structured interviews, accurately recording responses on tablet/phone (Taro Works or similar), capturing GPS locations, introducing the survey to communities, ensuring informed consent, translating questions into local language while preserving meaning, reviewing and syncing data daily, and supporting safeguarding practices.
Requirements: flexible schedule including early mornings/evenings, adaptability, ability to quickly learn mobile data collection tools, comfort working with diverse and low-literacy populations, willingness to walk long distances in rural areas daily, and fluency in local languages used in Kaffagna. A minimum diploma in any discipline with research experience is an asset; understanding of data quality and prior mobile data collection experience is advantageous. Preference given to candidates residing within Shisho Inde and Gimbo Woredas. Applicants must attach a stamped introductory letter from their Kebele Chairperson with a working telephone number.
