Medical Officer with Staff Clinic of Human Resources Under the Support Services (Re-Adv#117/2026)

The Medical Officer under the Staff Clinic will play a pivotal role in providing effective medical services to employees and their entitled dependents attending the Staff Clinic, with the objective of ensuring the healthy life of employees within the guidelines of Staff Clinic services and organizational values.
Key Responsibilities:
* Examine sick employees and their entitled dependents attending the Staff Clinic and provide updated treatment;
* Refer serious, complicated or chronic patients to outside consultant/hospital/clinic after discussion with the Senior Manager & Physician, Staff Clinic;
* Enter and update the SHEBA database with history of illness, clinical findings, advised laboratory investigations, treatment cost data and other relevant information, and give printed prescriptions to patients;
* Advise patients regarding personal hygiene, other preventive health measures, child rearing practice and family planning methods;
* Take active part in strengthening ongoing health education programs and professional development activities;
* Certify sickness and fitness of sick employees online, conduct medical examinations for newly recruited employees and provide confidential reports, and carry out periodic health checkups of regular Fixed Term staff when required;
* Follow up hospitalized patients over phone and in person when required, and handle infectious patients;
* Advise staff members over mobile phone after office hours and during weekends when required.
Requirements:
* MBBS degree from a Medical College recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council with good academic records;
* Minimum 5 years professional experience;
* Preference given to candidates with a Diploma in Child Health or post graduate training in Pediatrics from reputed Medical College Hospitals;
* Ability to recognize the seriousness of patients' ailments and advise relevant laboratory tests judiciously to confirm diagnosis;
* Ability to isolate infectious cases;
* Ability to train and supervise nursing staff.
Location: Dhaka. Number of positions: 01. Contract type: Fixed Term, 2 years with possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance. Salary: Annual Tk. 1,689,000/- inclusive of house rent, conveyance and other admissible benefits, plus 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.2,492/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. This is a national position, open only to Bangladeshi nationals.
