The position

BACKGROUND
Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is implementing 18 Months project which is “Strengthening Civil Society and Community Resilience- (Aswan Together)” funded by Aga Khan Foundation, which aims to strengthen the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Aswan and empower them to deliver more effective, inclusive, and sustainable development services. The project targets 10 CSOs in Aswan district to improve their organizational capacities, enhance their participation in local governance processes, and enable them to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of their communities.

As part of this project, OHF will expand its civil society interventions in Aswan City by mapping the local civil society ecosystem and providing tailored capacity-strengthening support to selected CSOs in areas such as governance, financial sustainability, and programme design. The project seeks to improve community participation and engagement, reaching approximately 11,400 people through partner organizations and community-based initiatives.

In parallel, the project will promote women's economic empowerment through the establishment of Community-Based Savings Groups (CBSGs), supporting women to strengthen their livelihoods and income-generating opportunities. The project will also establish adolescent and parent-friendly spaces within existing CSO facilities to provide safe, inclusive environments that support youth participation, personal development, and community engagement. To support these objectives.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:
The Field Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation of civil society program activities at the community level. The role involves mobilizing beneficiaries, coordinating with local CSOs, conducting field monitoring visits, collecting data, facilitating community engagement activities, and ensuring the timely delivery of project interventions in accordance with agreed quality standards.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Managing Field-Based Operations & Implementation:
• Monitoring the implementation of all planned activities in the targeted CSOs, areas according to the approved work plans.
• Support and follow up partner CSOs in implementing institutional and community empowerment initiatives, as well as entrepreneurship programs.
• Coordinate and represent the project in community sessions, workshops, and Integrated Coordination Committees.

Institutional Capacity Building:
• Monitor the application of Institutional Strengthening Plans (ISPs) for each partner CSOs.
• Provide technical support and ongoing coaching to CSOs and CSOs network on project management, community assessment, financial systems, and cooperation with government officials.
• Enhancing the use of digital tools to improve the institutional performance of CSOs.
• Monitoring the implementation of project tools such as: (The Philanthropy Tool, The Gender-Sensitive Community Feedback Mechanism, CSO’s activity form,

Civic engagement and CSOs manual).
Community Mobilization & Inclusion:
• Ensure the equitable participation of women, youth, and persons with disabilities in all priority- setting sessions.
• Organize CSO committees to identify local needs and integrate them into CSO action plans.

Community-Based Savings Groups (CBSGs):
• Support the establishment and monitoring of Community-Based Savings Groups.
• Conduct regular visits to CBSGs and provide guidance on group operations.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of group activities and participation.

Adolescent and Parent-Friendly Spaces:
• Support the establishment and operation of adolescent and parent-friendly spaces.
• Facilitate community engagement activities targeting adolescents, youth, and parents.
• Monitor participation levels and ensure activities are inclusive and accessible.

The requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, economics, political science, or another relevant university degree.

EXPERIENCE:
• 3-5 years of experience in field work in development or civil society field preferably through work with an international organization.
• One year of experience in entrepreneurship or social entrepreneurship.
• Experience in CSO capacity building, community mobilization, and social inclusion.
• Experience coordinating with local government authorities.
• Deep understanding of governance principles, gender mainstreaming, and disability inclusion

COMPETENCIES
• Excellent training and facilitation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good command of written English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet-based tools.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Hybrid work that is a blend of in-office and field visits. Normal conditions for an office environment.
