About the job: As Programme Officer, you will be part of Kvinna till Kvinna's Syria programme team and report to the Beirut Country Director. You will work closely with the Programme Manager covering Syria, as well as colleagues across the wider programme team. The role focuses on supporting and monitoring the implementation of Kvinna till Kvinna's Women, Peace and Security (WPS) programme in Syria, in accordance with the organisation's mandate, strategies, policies, operational plans, budgets and working methods.
Tasks include: Provide comprehensive support to partner organizations across the full project cycle, including applications, budgeting, planning, reporting, and continuous WPS-related guidance; lead and monitor WPS programme implementation to ensure alignment with objectives, timelines, and Kvinna till Kvinna strategies, policies and agreements; conduct regular monitoring through visits and/or remote follow-ups, identifying challenges and coordinating solutions with the Country Director or Programme Manager; facilitate partner capacity development through experience exchanges, networking and training activities; prepare regular programme implementation reports and analyses of political developments for donors, the Country Director and other stakeholders; coordinate and collaborate with civil society, INGOs, UN agencies and donors on WPS; support logistical arrangements for project activities.
About you: You are collaborative with strong coordination skills among colleagues and external stakeholders, have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and are comfortable working in complex political and operational environments. You are committed to human rights and gender equality, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach and attention to detail.
Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Human Rights, Gender Studies, Social Sciences or another relevant field, or a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience; proven experience working with Women, Peace and Security (WPS) programming; demonstrated experience leading advocacy campaigns and/or managing advocacy-focused projects; at least five years of professional experience designing, managing and delivering development or human rights projects (partnership-building experience an asset); solid experience in project cycle management, including planning, monitoring and evaluation; strong understanding of the political and development context in Syria and the wider region; experience working collaboratively with local civil society organisations, coalitions, UN agencies, international NGOs and donors; excellent written and spoken Arabic and English, French an asset; excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; ability and willingness to travel as required.
Terms: Full-time local position, 1 year renewable. Starting date October or as agreed. Location: Beirut.
