Programme Manager - Mozambique WASH Programme

World Jewish Relief provides life-saving and life-changing action to people in crisis around the world, working with trusted local partners to help people survive the consequences of conflict and disaster, thrive and rebuild their lives. We are looking to recruit an experienced Programme Manager to lead the management of a new Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme in Mozambique. The programme will be delivered in partnership with a Mozambican organisation and aims to improve access to safe, inclusive and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene services for vulnerable communities. It will include construction or rehabilitation of water systems, sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion, community engagement, institutional capacity strengthening and climate-resilient WASH planning. Based at the London office, the Programme Manager will ensure high-quality, timely and compliant delivery within budget, responsible for overall performance, partnership management, financial oversight, risk management, safeguarding, monitoring, evaluation and learning, and donor reporting. This post is a fixed-term 18-month contract to March 2028. You should have: significant experience managing international development or humanitarian programmes, including WASH or a substantial WASH component; experience working with local or national partners and managing institutional donor grants, preferably FCDO-funded; strong experience in programme planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial monitoring, risk and compliance; experience using theories of change, logframes, indicators and MEL plans; experience producing high-quality donor reports and undertaking international programme-monitoring visits; experience working in complex, fragile or resource-constrained contexts; good knowledge of WASH, GEDSI, sustainable and climate-resilient programming; financial literacy; fluent written and spoken English and working knowledge of Portuguese; willingness to travel regularly to Mozambique. Salary £47,000.
