Energy Cities empowers cities and citizens to shape and transition to future-proof cities. Its community is composed of local leaders of thousands of cities in 30 European countries. The organisation is looking for a Policy and Mayors' Voice Coordinator to contribute to the development and implementation of Energy Cities' strategy in concrete policy outcomes, build the visibility of local leaders, strengthen mutual learning and a sense of community among elected representatives, and influence narratives at national and European levels. Key responsibilities include coordinating the Board and elected members' activities (high-level debates, inspirational sessions at the annual forum, Communities of Practice of elected people); ensuring members' priorities and expertise inform policy work; supporting coordination and implementation of policy priorities; producing briefings and papers on EU policy developments; leading policy tasks and deliverables in projects financing local transitions; monitoring and influencing EU and national policies by developing policy analysis and narratives, participating in advocacy activities, and organising events; representing Energy Cities in meetings with the European Commission and other EU institutions and at high-level conferences; and developing project proposals. The role also involves participating in membership activities and setting up partnerships with other city networks. Required: a master's degree in policy, engineering, economy/finance, sustainable energy & climate, sustainable urban development & planning or similar; at least 3 to 5 years of solid advocacy experience at EU level; experience and knowledge in urban transition, energy systems and EU programmes; and an interest in system-change approaches. Required skills include an excellent level of English (C level - CEFR), strong writing and analytical skills, excellent organisational skills, ability to take initiative, and the ability to work in an international, intercultural team. This is a close-ended (CDD) full-time contract of 24 months, 38h/week, based in Brussels, starting October 2026, with a salary aligned with the sector and attractive benefits.
