5Rights Foundation exists to ensure a digital world that will serve children and young people today and for future generations. It is a small team of senior professionals and experts delivering change in how the digital world works through comms campaigns, research, tools, legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
Reporting to the Youth Engagement Officer, the Youth Engagement Intern will support the delivery of 5Rights' Youth Engagement programme. The intern will contribute to coordination, facilitation and conduction of consultations with the 5Rights Youth Council, Youth Network, and partner youth organisations. This role suits someone looking for hands-on experience in global approaches to youth engagement in an international organisation, including working with children and young people from around the globe.
Key responsibilities include assisting daily communication and engagement with the global youth network; supporting the Youth Council and its working groups; facilitating resource sharing and community building; coordinating training/development sessions and podcast production logistics; planning and executing youth engagement activities and online sessions; developing educational materials; maintaining project documentation and reporting; collecting and analysing data; participating in advocacy efforts; and helping research funding opportunities.
Essential: a degree in social sciences, youth work, communication or related field; strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills in English; basic data collection and analysis; a creative mindset; and commitment to youth advocacy. Spanish is an advantage.
Practical details: either a six-month remote CIP contract based in Brussels, Belgium (gross €1,500/month stipend, applicant must live and have right to work in Belgium), or a six-month fixed-term contract in the UK (£27,040 per annum pro rata, applicant must live and have right to work in the UK). Occasional international travel and flexible hours, including weekends, may be required.
