About Concern: Established in 1968, Concern is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world's poorest countries. The Strategy Advocacy and Learning Department (SAL) supports the whole organisation in developing and setting strategy, assuring programme impact, supporting advocacy and driving organisational learning. The Technical Assistance (TA) Unit provides direct assistance to Country Programmes and comprises over 30 advisors.

Role Purpose: The Programme Knowledge and Learning Officer contributes to the delivery of quality programmes through supporting the documentation of evidence-based learning from programmes and research and the use of learning and knowledge products to enhance staff capacity, inform programme design and strengthen impact, working across knowledge creation and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities: Keep the Knowledge Hub and Technical Web Pages on Concern's external website up to date, working with Communications to optimise engagement; work with Country Programme Teams, Technical Advisors and others to identify, analyse and document learning and good practice; support the identification of key research questions and distil learning; incentivise and support the documentation of learning through training and guidance; provide learning and knowledge support to the four Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance countries including country visits and represent Concern at global Knowledge Workstream meetings; assist in the synthesis and write up of the Annual Programme Progress Report.

Essential Requirements: Relevant Degree in Development/Humanitarian Studies or similar; experience with systems of knowledge management and sharing in an international organisation, preferably an international NGO; proven ability to facilitate the generation, distillation and capture of learning; strong analytical and writing skills with excellent written English; understanding of humanitarian principles and practice; excellent interpersonal communication skills. Desirable: experience in fragile and conflict affected countries; ability to work through French; experience with capacity building initiatives.
