Under the overall supervision of the Director, Coordinating Office for the Mediterranean and Chief of Mission for Italy and Malta, the supervision of the Integration Specialist and the direct supervision of the Labour Exploitation Expert and Project Manager, the incumbent will provide clerical and language support to the project activities in the framework of the ALT Caporalato T.R.E. project, aimed at supporting outreach to migrants and overcoming linguistic barriers during inspections and information sessions.
Provide cultural mediation support to the Territorial Labour Inspectorates’ activities aimed at fighting migrants’ labour exploitation during labour inspections and information sessions in an impartial manner.
Support the provision of general information on national laws and administrative procedures related to recruitment, irregular work, labour exploitation and trafficking in persons, assisting the project staff.
- Contribute to awareness-raising activities on protection mechanisms for victims of labour exploitation and/or trafficking.
- Assist inspection taskforces by accompanying teams to different sites within the area of competence, facilitating communication with migrants.
- Provide language support during outreach activities, inspections, and meetings, maintaining impartiality.
- Perform any other related clerical duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma with three years of relevant professional experience;
- or
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution with one year of relevant working experience.
Experience
- Experience in clerical or administrative support functions such as filing, record-keeping, or data entry.
- Experience in cultural mediation particularly with migrants or vulnerable groups, is an advantage.
- Previous experience providing support to community-based initiatives, international organizations, NGOs and/or EU Agencies would be an asset.
Skills
- Ability to provide clear and impartial cultural mediation between Italian and migrants’ mother tongues.
- Good organizational skills for handling clerical tasks including documentation and logistical support.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Driving licence is required.
Languages
For this position, fluency in Italian and mother tongue Bengali is required (oral and written).
