An exciting opening has arisen in our LATAM Influencing team for an enthusiastic, committed, and highly resilient Finance and Compliance Officer.
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in the following areas:
* NGO Financial Accounting & Multi-Donor Budgeting: Managing complex internal controls and preparing strict financial reports under tight deadlines.
* Partner Sub-Grant Oversight: Validating financial reports, reviewing physical/scanned supporting documentation, and conducting administrative due diligence for local partner organizations.
* Emergency Financial Workflows: Swiftly processing accounts payable (suppliers, consultants, and expense claims) under high-demand and rapid emergency deadlines.
* Capacity Building: Delivering financial orientation, technical guidance, and training to local partner finance staff.
* Field Logistics & Admin Support: Managing local procurement, supplier contracting, asset tracking, and basic field HR administrative functions.
Tearfund needs to ensure the ethical, professional, compliant, and efficient management of all financial operations for our post-earthquake response programme. We urgently need someone who can maintain robust internal controls, eliminate over/under expenditure, and keep our records fully audit-ready under the pressure of an emergency context.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of partner humanitarian funds, maintaining accurate digital cashbooks, and coordinating local procurement in strict compliance with our Anti-Corruption Guidelines.

You will be accustomed to working precisely with robust analytical skills and able to work well with remote colleagues, working under the direct supervision of the Senior Finance and Compliance Officer and in synergy with the LAC Regional Administrator.

We would expect applicants to hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. All posts involve potential contact with children and vulnerable adults; therefore, the recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues, a clean criminal record check, and international watchlist screening.
Please note: This is a 1 year fixed term contract. This role is based in Colombia , but requires frequent field travel inside disaster-affected areas as a core requirement of the position. It is essential that the successful candidate has the ability to travel to these project sites.
