Rationale/Objective for Position
The SRH&R Advisor provides strategic, technical, and operational support to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, ethical, and people-centred sexual and reproductive health and rights services for women, adolescents, and young girls across MSF Ubuntu programs.
The role ensures alignment with MSF International medical standards and MSF Ubuntu’s strategic priorities, with a strong focus on community engagement, local partnerships, sustainability, and rights-based care. The Advisor promotes the consistent integration of SRH&R—including Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Safe Abortion Care (SAC)—across all projects and country programs.
This position will be hierarchically and functionally accountable to the Head of Health Programs Unit or the relevant unit head.
Qualifications
Education
- Registered Midwife or a Medical Doctor with a specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Essential).
- ALSO instructor certificate (Asset).
- Fluency in spoken and written English (essential); French (An Advantage).
- Demonstrated experience in cross-cultural communication and collaboration.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant professional and hands-on experience in MSF or similar international medical-humanitarian organisations (Essential).
- Proven experience in Comprehensive SGBV care and service management (Essential).
- Proven experience in supervision, mentoring, and training skills.
- Demonstrated experience in supervision, mentoring, and training
