About the position
The digital inclusion team is looking for a user research and design support staff based in Kenya. The work will feed into multiple projects, supporting on the implementation of HCD methodologies, from context exploration, to ideation, testing and monitoring of solutions.
Key duties & responsibilities
• Contribute to the implementation of HCD methodologies
• Contribute to the design and implementation of field work for exploration and user feedback gathering
• Synthase insights from the field into journeys, personas and design challenges
• Contribute to the development of prototypes stating potential solutions
• Support on capacity development activities around for HCD
• Communication, outreach and collaboration:
- Communicate findings through reports and presentations
- Engage with other teams to conduct research and share outputs
- Collaborate with members from the digital inclusion and climate action team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, gender or related studies
- At least 3 years of experience applying HCD methodologies
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines;
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, verbally and in writing, in English

Terms of employment
This is a nationally recruited position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The initial contract will be for one year, subject to a probation period of three months and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
This position is graded at BG06 level, with a minimum basic salary of KES 168,837 in a scale of BG01 to BG14 (BG14 being the highest level according to the Alliance job classification framework policy).
