ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.


POSITION SUMMARY:
 
World Relief seeks a Community Care & Integration Specialist, a role that strengthens the safety, stability, and resilience of refugee and immigrant families by providing culturally responsive education, Know Your Rights training, and community workshops. This role equips families with practical tools to navigate interactions with immigration enforcement, prepares households for potential emergencies—including the detention of a family member—and connects participants to trusted legal and social services.
 
The Specialist plays a key role in fostering belonging, reducing fear, and empowering participants to make informed decisions that protect their families and uphold their rights. However, the Specialist does not give legal advice at any time to any participants.
 
World Relief Western Washington is a Christian non-profit organization that provides support to refugees, asylees, and other immigrants in Western WA. We envision every refugee and immigrant welcomed by community, rooted in community, and empowered for community. 
 
This is a limited-term position until June 30th, 2027, and contingent upon funding extension.
This is a part-time position for 24 hours per week. Hybrid Schedule:  Flexible hours dependent on community needs. Ideally 1-2 days in office, 3 or 4 days work from home.


ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES::
Know Your Rights Education

Facilitate Know Your Rights workshops for refugees, immigrants, and community partners

Provide accurate, accessible information about rights during encounters with law enforcement or immigration officials. 

Develop and adapt training materials for diverse cultural and linguistic audiences.

Coordinate with the Legal Services team to ensure all content is legally accurate and up to date. 

Community Workshops & Outreach 

Listening to the community for needs and current gaps in resources or services.

Host community workshops on safety planning, family preparedness, and navigating public systems. 

Build relationships with community leaders, faith partners, and ethnic organizations to expand outreach.

Conduct one on one or small group sessions for families needing individualized support. 

Participate in community events, resource fairs, and partner meetings to raise awareness of services.

Family Preparedness & Detention Support 

Support families in creating Family Preparedness Plans, including:

Emergency contacts 

Connecting with resources for childcare and guardianship planning

Document organization 

Communication plans 

Provide compassionate, trauma informed support to families experiencing the detention of a loved one. 

Connect families to legal resources, social services, and community support networks. 

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure continuity of care for affected households.

Case Support & Navigation

Conduct intake assessments to identify needs related to safety, stability, and integration.

 Provide referrals to legal services, mental health providers, housing resources, and other community supports.

Maintain accurate case notes and documentation 

Collaborate with cross department teams to ensure holistic support for participants.

Program Development & Collaboration

Assist in developing new workshops, curricula, and community education tools.

Provide feedback to leadership on emerging community needs and trends.

Participate in staff trainings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Support data collection, reporting, and evaluation efforts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS::
Mature and personal Christian faith

Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief

Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities

Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs , Statement of Faith , Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document

Experience in community outreach, education, social services, or related fields.

Lived experience or deep familiarity with refugee and immigrant communities.

Strong interpersonal and cross cultural communication skills.

Ability to facilitate workshops and engage diverse audiences.

Commitment to trauma informed, strengths based, and culturally responsive practices.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. 

Proficiency in English and at least one additional language commonly spoken by participants
