Oceana is seeking a passionate and motivated Campaign Assistant to support our European campaign team and contribute to our mission of protecting and restoring the world's oceans. Reporting to the Head of Campaigns, this early-career role provides operational, analytical, and coordination support to ensure effective planning, smooth information flow, and the timely implementation of campaign activities across Europe.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting desk research, preparing briefings and background materials on topics such as fisheries and marine protection, supporting the development of communications materials, assisting with stakeholder engagement activities and events, and providing general administrative and organisational support to Campaign Directors and cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate holds a degree in environmental studies, political science, international relations, marine science, or a related field, and brings early career experience or relevant internships in campaigns, advocacy, policy, research, or communications. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are essential. Oral and written proficiency in English is required; fluency in additional European languages such as French or Spanish is an advantage.
This position is based in Brussels, Belgium; Madrid, Spain; or Copenhagen, Denmark. Staff are required to work from their assigned office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Limited travel within Europe may be required.
