Background

WWF, an independent conservation organization active in nearly 100 countries, works to sustain the natural world for the benefit of people and wildlife. WWF-Myanmar, established in 2014, is focused on halting the loss of the country’s extraordinary biodiversity and ensuring that human use of the country’s natural resources is sustainable and equitable. Preserving the environment in which people live and work is critical for health and wellbeing. Find out more at www.wwf.org.mm

Major Function

The project aims to improve food and financial security of local communities through the adoption of climate-resilient livelihood options. The traditional livestock husbandry practices currently used by local communities are not dependable for ensuring household food security and income. Therefore, the project seeks to strengthen the household livestock production system to reduce dependency on wildlife as a food source. This approach ensures that livestock production activities contribute to reducing traditional hunting and improving livelihood income. The service provider is expected to perform the following activities by full commitment to respect WWF’s social safeguard policies.

  • Developing a tailored training manual with appropriate visual aids (in Myanmar language) specifically for Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHPs) for common livestock. The manual must be submitted in a digital (soft copy) format within 1 week of contract date.
  • Deliver training for 12 to 15 participants at project location to ensure high-quality, practical and hands-on learning.
  • Conducting pre and posttraining assessments to assess knowledge improvement of participants.
  • Prepare and submit training reports with recommendations.

Requirements

  • Degree in relevant subject or certified in relevant field.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience working in conducting training relevant to the subject.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, communication (oral and written), interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent understanding of Animal Husbandry and livestock management in Myanmar, including major areas of interest and intervention.
  • The ability to understand/speak local dialects is a significant advantage.
  • Proven experience in adult education (in person and virtual).
